What's on Offer:

Being a great Practitioner is enough pleasure in itself, but having a sense of relationship with the Ancestors, that is beyond purely physical, adds something else to the practice and the Client experience. This training is for experienced Practitioners who havenʻt learned the correct Spiritual Teachings, Healing Protocols and Oli that are the foundation of Hawaiian Bodywork Massage, and/or who are returning to Practice after a break and need to refresh their skills and knowledge. This course is taught by a Lineage Kumu Paʻa who is also a busy Practitioner. Youʻre course is recognised in 39 Countries, and youʻll receive Lineage Certification as well. If becoming a Luna Hoʻopononpono is in your vision as well, you'll only need the Ho'oponopono Modules after this.

FAQs: Ask Kumu Nālani

  • Why do you mean by "Culturally Correct" Hawaiian Massage Bodywork?

It's about what's important to you as a Practitioner. If it's important to you to offer a culturally correct Healing Process and your Practice is built on Truth, then this Course is for you. Hawaiian Healing is part of Indigenous Identity, when you don't offer it correctly, you are contributing to the death of a whole Culture because the Healing Process you're doing is distorted. By continuing to do it, you are changing the Practice, the Culture and the history of the Hawaiian People for the generations to come.

  • That's confronting! How do I know if I've done Culturally Correct Training?

It is confronting to think about what we do as Practitioners in this way. But facts are facts, and we have to be truthful and courageous to tackle them head on. Our role isn't to judge your training or your Teacher, but to offer what is correct. What you do next is up to you. Here's a simple indicator: if you've learned that Huna is a religious practice, rite of passage, something secret, done by Kahunas, or that there's 7 Principles or similar; if you use "cards" in your Sessions, or have been taught about the "soul", then you probably haven't done training that is all the way correct. But that's why this program is called Lomilomi - RPL: Recognition of Prior Learning. We recognise your previous learning as an experienced Practitioner.

  • What does "Blended Learning" mean?

There's different ways of learning and people learn in different ways. Some people like to read and study by themselves, some like to learn in a group, some like deep experiential exercises to get into the embodied experience, some people like interactive, gaming like activities, some like being led by the Teacher, and some people like going on a Retreat and being together in person. Our courses have all of that and that's why its' called "blended" learning - there's a bit of everything.

  • What does "Modular Courses" mean?

It means everything fits together. We all start in the same place with the Path to Paʻa - Part 1. Then you build from there by studying the Stream that interests you. You can do it one course at a time, or for some courses like Luna Hoʻoponopono, all the courses needed are included in the one study program.

  • What is Oli and why do I need to learn it?

Oli is the Hawaiian word for Chanting. There are different Oli for different situations - including Healing. Oli is part of what's called Protocol. When you learn to Oli, you are learning the Teaching of Sound and Mana. Each sound means something. We put those sounds together to make words. We put words together in the right way, then they "do something"...they bring in the spirit energy, the essence of the Ancestors. It's the Ancestors who are doing the "work".

  • Can I talk to someone face to face if I need to?

Of course! Your Kumu is always available. The courses are highly transformational - as changes start to take place within you, the SoHAD Wise Guides are there to help. Every 2 weeks, the Group meets with the Kumu in a classroom for lectures, discussions, integration, coaching, problem solving and assessment of how you're going.

  • Kumu - what does that even mean?

Today, Kumu has come to mean Teacher. But not all Teachers are trained in a Lineage to carry the Lineage Teachings forward. A Traditional Kumu is part of a Lineage and a lifelong student of the Lineage themselves. They're learning all the time too because learning always opens deeper into the Realms. A Kumu is considered as one closest to the Source because they have achieved Mastery in understanding the workings of the Universe. They go through training, the same as what you'll learn with us, take it to its extreme, and when they're done, they go through the process of Uniki - a kind of graduation that elevates them to the next level.

  • What if I need to pull out of my training?

That's why it's modular. There's points where you can press the pause button. Always talk to Kumu or one of the Wise Guides before you do so we can support you. To complete training, you must do so within the next 6 months after you pause. That said, if we need to extend that timeframe for you, we will.

  • What do you mean by "wiggle" room in the Course Structure?

There is a teaching called Mākaukau - which means always be ready, always be prepared. We have dates as guidelines of when learning goals need to be achieved so we can move as a Group. But, people learn in different ways and the Ancestors are part of the our classes, so sometimes they will want to spend more time on something than we originally planned. Sometimes our own Kumu Nui, another Lineage Kumu, or Kumu from another school, will come into the class and so we'll need more time to complete our studies.

Enrol now. Offer the complete package. Go stratospheric.

  • We have 50+ Generations of Traditional Teachings to share with you. Teachings to live by. Teachings to heal with. Teachings to grow you. Teachings for change. Each one is wrapped in the mana – the spirit power - of the Ancestors. With with great care and thoroughness they preserved them for you. And itʻs here that they start teaching you...
